Solved Default Apps Not on Start Screen

Everything was find a couple of days ago, but now the default apps don't show on the Start screen. They show up as installed but are not on the Start screen.

I have installed several programs ( i.e. Adobe Reader, Firefox, etc.) and made them the default programs for certain file types. Does this affect what is displayed on the Start screen (Firefox and not IE, iTunes and not Music)?

This still would not explain why other installed apps are not being displayed, i.e. People.

Thanks!

go to apps store, right click on screen and then click "your apps", see your options, maybe something there might help you.

From 'Your apps', it says that 'all of your available apps are installed'. But instead of all of my 22 apps only 15 were on the Start screen. The remaining 7 showed error: 0x80240017.

Anyway I kept re-installing and was able to get all except Camera and 3 new apps to show up. I believe there are definitely 'issues' with the way apps are being handled.

I will let it go for now, since I currently don't have much use for the tile stuff.

Thanks.
