    Cleaning Up "My Apps" Section Of Microsoft Store

    I downloaded a free calculator program and did not like it so I immediately uninstalled it. However, it's still listed under "My Apps" in the Microsoft Store.

    Is there a way I can cleanup some of the items listed in the "My Apps" section of the Microsoft store.

    Thanks!

    Hello tackyjan. Welcome to the Eight Forums.

    Not sure why you would want to. Try the button - bottom left corner. I did not try it. ... do not want to clear ...

    Clear didn't work I tried it already. (Clear just removes the checkmark.)

    The reason why I want to clear it is I did not pay for the app, I don't like the app, and I never plan on downloading it again. If Microsoft does not allow you to clear the "My Apps" section then it will just fill up with junk. It will be like a history of everything you ever downloaded from the Windows Store.

    Ok. I tried it. Clear does like you said. Well, it's another wonderful MS mystery. I am up to 83 apps installed in history (not on my computer) (only about 12 metro apps on my computer) It doesn't bother me. IMO, kind of nice having a history of store app installs.

    Perhaps if you use a different Microsoft Account (open a new one), the app history will change.

    I don't think so, because it goes against the point of "My Apps". My Apps is designed to track purchases. When you download a free app, it's still considered a purchase, just a $0 one. The point is that once you pay for an app, you can uninstall it, and install it again later. Or you can install it on another computer (you can install it on up to 5 devices).

    So If you could delete things from there, then you would lose access to apps you've purchased.

    Anything is possible. Probable??? Not so much :(

    Possible?

    MS could let a user have a LOCAL database that is editable by the Account holder,
    and a permanent un-editable database stored on their sever that contains the full
    listing of All Apps purchased by the account holder.

    Two radio buttons COULD be added to the Your Apps screen.

    [Download Listing of All Purchased Apps] {from your MS account server}
    [Edit Local App Listings] {c:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\AppCache\Local- app store listings.xml}

    Will that happen?

    I believe the usual two chances thing applies here....slim and none :)

    Cheers

    I think it's something Microsoft needs to address. I downloaded WeatherBug earlier tonight and deleted it about 5 minutes later. The Play Store just recently began allowing the deletion of items such at this. Keep the pay apps I'm fine with that but free apps that just didn't make the cut should be allowed a delete option.

    So it is your belief that every single product you have ever downloaded and will ever download will show up in My Apps? Wow. Imagine what it will be like in 5 years. Literally 1000s of pages of crap.

    They need to at a minimum provide the ability to filter what gets shown. For example, apps purchased in the last month.

    Apple does it. I don't get peoples problem with it. There is this handy little search charm you can use to find particular apps again. But I rarely use the My Apps from apple. My iTunes apps page is full of apps though. And you can't delete those.
