I too have this problem but the app in question was not from the store and I uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller.

I'm sure they could find a solution to the problem.

Right now, any app you download is "purchased" whether it's free or paid for. Once it's purchased, you can erase and redownload it as many times as you like to whatever PCs you have. In fact, you don't even have to worry about the app being removed from the marketplace because once you own it, you own it.

What if they had the option to remove purchases? You can then claim that you bought something and accidentally removed it and you want it back. That adds another layer of work and they'd have to go through transactions to see whether you actually did purchase that $10 game. Now, they can have workarounds to solve the situation and maybe they should.

well, why not have separate designations for paid stuff and free stuff? well, sometimes there are promotions and a paid item may become free but only for a limited amount of time. With a purchase history, once you own it, you own it. You don't have to worry about losing access sometime in the future.

But if you uninstall it from your PC, you don't have to worry about it. Yes, your download history will get cluttered by all the apps you download. there are filters to show what apps are installed only on that PC, what apps are installed on your other PCs but not the current one you're looking at, etc. You can see the download history for that specific PC you want.

It's not the best solution but there's no "easy" solution. The only easy solution is to make all apps free or all apps paid for. Of course, there's never going to be a world that's all free (well, Linux if you can handle the crap software). And I don't think we'd want to live in a world where there's no free software.

One quite good reason you might want to remove apps from the list is if the app has an embarrassing name (for example 'Geek Porn' or 'Sex Diary' - these are real apps) - anything you ever installed, even out of momentary idle curiosity, is there in the app history forever.

Clear "Your Apps" list in Store in Software and Apps
Thank you for this great set of tutorials on the app store. I have one which puzzles me. Forgive me if this is already posted elsewhere but I am new and have not browsed a lot yet. If you try out a lot of apps from the store and uninstall them you end up with a long list of apps which it says...
If you go to the Windows Store and right click, you'll get a Your Apps option. I would like to reset it, or at least delete some apps from the list. I tried a couple once and now they are in the list. I likely won't ever use them again so they are just cluttering up the screen and making it hard to...
