I just installed chrome via the store on my fresh install and when I use chrome via the metro UI it has a different profile and when I use via the desktop it has a different profile. Its quite annoying as I cant use facebook properly.

I have noticed facebook doesn't load properly when using multiple profiles on chrome. I know this for a fact because it doenst work properly on windows 7 either when I use multiple profiles. facebook is the only site with this problem.

Even otherwise, two profiles on the same computer/user is annoying. how do I fix this?

this is what I see. http://snag.gy/V7qfr.jpg

Just don't use Chrome in metro. Create a desktop shortcut to metro instead.

You must have done something wrong as my Metro and Desktop Google are using the same account , have you try to log out and log in back with the same account ?

Note that I install Google Chrome from IE in the desktop, so try to uninstall it, fire IE go to Google and install it from there , installing Chrome from the desktop install it in Metro too

This is actually a known issue - in the stable channel, the desktop and modern browsers require you to log into your google account with both instances before they start "sharing" your profile. Apparently in some of the upstream testing builds this works without you having to login once for each, but for now this is expected behavior.
