Some Metro Apps not launching

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem with a few metro applications. They either close on launch or they don't load any internet content.

The apps I have problems with is the News, Weather and Sports, Finance and Travel. The main bunch.

My internet works fine except so I don't know what the problem is. I've also tried refreshing Windows 8 and resetting my router.

Any ideas?

Here's a profile of my net connection profile if it helps in anyway (found in Windows Powershell with the get-netconnectionprofile command) -

If you have anti-virus software installed, make sure you update to the latest version.

Also try changing your DNS servers.

I had to do both to get my metro apps working, and get them to use my network.

Do you really have to change your DNS servers just to get win8 to function properly???? This just doesn't seem right. This is the same company that brought us Windows 7.

I also find some of the apps hang or do not work. Yesterday the store app froze. Only way to fix was to do a reboot
