    Metro apps don't work


    Hi

    I'm using Windows 8 Pro from the past month or so. Suddenly, from yesterday, Metro apps won't connect to the Internet. I tried reconnecting, disconnecting and nothing worked. So, I did a clean install and they worked. But, as soon as I updated them, they stopped working. The Apps troubleshooter says I'm not connected to the internet. But, I am connected as I can use everything on the desktop. Please help

    Isn't there any other way? sfc /scannow generated a log file but didn't fix anything. It said some files were corrupted though.

    I did a clean install today morning! And now I have to refresh it? Oh god....

    Do you happen to have Avast installed on your PC? Most likely that's the case.Update the program and restart the PC afterwards. It doesn't matter if it is the Free or the Paid version. After the restart, you would see in their update message that Avast is now fully compatible with Windows 8. Try using the Modern apps now and you would see a difference.

After going through all the immediate solutions for the problem: Resolution is ok User account enabled delete ole keys from registry update video drivers I finally used the option: refresh windows 8 Note: this discards the installation of a lot of third party software!!
