Is there a way to install an app without going through the store?

I know odd question. I just got the microsoft surface and unfortunately i can't access the internet yet because my university has stupid security measures which will require me to get it manually added by the systems admin who is out for a few days. Im wondering if there is a way can install an app to the surface from a jump drive or something if i get it off my desktop. I went to program files- windows apps, and tried to copy over an app i wanted, but didn't see an installer in the folder. Anyone know of a way i can go about doing this?

Sorry, but no. Metro apps can only be installed through the Store.

To install "Your apps" on another computer or your's again later, you would need to sign into the Store itself with your Microsoft account first before being able to install them on the other computer's account, or make it easy to install on your Surface RT.

Either way, your surface will need to be conneced to the internet to do this in the Store.
