Solved How to Reinstall Office After a Clean Install of Windows 8

Weirdo

My laptop is still running Vista, so when I upgrade to Windows 8, I'll have to do a clean install.

I don't mind having to re-install all my programs, but I need to be certain I'll be able to re-install Office 2007, since there's no way I'm going to buy it twice for a single computer.

I've read that Office can indeed be re-installed after the upgrade, but I haven't found any information on exactly how to do this. Could someone please post a step-by-step guide on re-installing Office, including a list of all the information/codes I'll need to get hold of (for example, will I need to find my product key?) for the process?

???

You install it like on previous versions of Windows. You'll need an installation disc, plus your license key.

If Office was pre-installed by a computer maker, you'll have to contact them for assistance. (You may buy it separately, in the end.)

What if I don't have the installation disc anymore? Is it impossible to re-install Office, then?

I am new here and am looking at taking advantage of the upgrade for my Vista Machine and, if I like it, for my Win 7 machine. I have 3 legal copies of Office 2007 already installed. I have the product key. I have the disk but it is pretty old and probably a lot of updates along the way and I know I can download.

SO.....

My question is about the product key. Since I have used it three times am I "done" or how do I recycle it for use on the existing computer which will have it removed in order to reinstall under Win 8?

I've never had any problems reinstalling MS Office after hardware or O/S upgrades. As far as I know MS software is linked to the motherboard so as long as you don't replace that your home free. I also tried Office 2007 on my W8 laptop before upgrading to Office 2010 & it was fine.
