    Forum Fragmentation

I am concerned over the increase in posts in this forum dealing with Windows Phone & Surface issues/features. Yes -- I know they are running Win 8 or some form of it but there are some reasonable differences between traditional desktop/laptop users and the more mobile crowd.

I think people (me for example), will become annoyed at scrolling past many entries related to systems that they are not interested in. This is a natural evolution of the schizoid design of win 8. It was designed to operate in both worlds but that doesn't mean both worlds need to have the same forum.

I suggest that a new forum be created for mobile win 8 rather than piss off both types of users in this single forum.

Where are you seeing these? I'm not really noticing it and I've just had a look around and can only see the odd one or two, but nothing that I could see causing annoyance.

There are a few more but really the biggest increase is BSOD compared to a couple of years ago. More people using 8 guess. Never bothered me anyway, scrolling.

What are you going to do when Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9 arrive? They're going to be the same o.s.

Should just do what Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 Forums did a while back. They rolled all the forum's under one name, Windows Forum and just added subcategories for each o.s, etc..

Why would our successful high traffic forums want to follow the example of a very low traffic failure?

While playing with various defrag solutions I noticed a glaring difference in the fragmentation percentages reported by the analyse phase of each product. On my 100GB Windows C drive:- 1. The built-in Windows 8.1 optimiser showed 0% 2. Defraggler showed 9% 3. Powersuite showed 31% 4. Perfect...
