Why didn't they just retain the start bar on the desktop view, essentially making Windows 8 = Windows 7 + Metro. It would have made life infinitely easier.

Went on this, the only option it is giving me is uninstall, no sign of "repair". Nope, isn't there. As I said, all the other Office programs are there, but no Word.

I would but I don't have my installation disc on me. Really the only issue is that Word doesn't seem to be appearing as an 'app' and all the other ones do.
