Solved New HDD with only one partition

I corrected this weakness by first partitioning 17GB of unallocated space, and then installed Aomei onekey recovery. I still do not have the Lenovo onekey buttom/system , but at least I have a new partition (and of course an external image.)

Solved New HDD with only one partition

Just installed a new HDD with new 8.1 OS, and I think I did not format the drive correctly during the install. When asked for the drive information, there was 465G unallocated, and I clicked "new", which then became "primary." I did not delete any drive, nor choose, etc. I checked both in DOS...

Solved Windows false hard drive problem message

It turns out that the Windows error is actually correct, and I will be installing a new HD shortly. I used a very promising free hard drive tool--Victoria 4.72 (available at Softpedia or Major Geeks), which immediately found the SMART errors. I then tried refreshing and remapping with this app...

Solved Windows false hard drive problem message

A WD diagnostic brings up "relocated sector count/ bad sectors", while scannow and chkdsk were clean. Assuming WD is correct, this would be a legitimate reason for Windows to detect error--but this seems to be a common fault on 8. Is there an app to probe deeper or repair the sectors? Thanks

Solved Windows false hard drive problem message

My "new"Lenovo B50 keeps displaying a Windows box with "windows detected a hard drive problem...please back up now." I have scanned 2X and there is no objective error. I learned that using "gpedit.msc" will disable this warning, but since I have a home 8.1 edition, this was missing. Long story...

    Lenovo OKR data loss

Thanks for the links--I'm currently using EaseUS and while it has recovered a lost partition and many gigabytes of files, not all of them are actually "recovered", but just remnants of them (perhaps this is why the deep scan has recovered 1300G, while the hardrive is only 500G). At least some...

    Lenovo OKR data loss

I did an OKR (oneKey) recovery in order to repair a BSOD (missing boot sector), and all my files and apps are deleted. Is there a miracle solution to get these back or have they been overwritten forever? Next time I know to run an ISO disk to try a repair on this cursed machine.
