Was the Wi-Fi card pre-installed + drivers, or did you install the card? If you installed the card and drivers try re-seating the card uninstall the drivers and start over. You could also check Microsoft Forums faq's for help with 8.1.

Welcome Nephatiu, Can I suggest you look at Brink's Tutorial Wi-Fi - Turn On and Off in Windows 8 and 8.1 on a pc. This might help, or wait for a network expert to answer your question.
