I have windows 8.1 which doesn't come with gpedit installed. I've been able to download it but can't take the next step of actually completing the installation. Anyone tell me how this is done? Thanks Sam

Thanks Roland. I do have two sound cards. These had both been enabled for a few years with no problems. The current problem only started after I upgraded to 10 then reverted to 8.1. Anyway I have tried uninstalling one of the cards and then the other and it hasn't made any difference.

When ii switch on my PC the loading screen comes up for a few seconds. The screen then goes black for up to 90 seconds then startup resumes. I've tried uninstalling the reinstalling the graphic card & checked for the latest driver but no change. Any other things I can try?

I downloaded Windows 10 but didn't like it so reverted to 8.1. Since then I've spent many hours getting rid of files etc left behind. There is just one thing left that I can't fix. When I start up I get the windows 10 loading logo (blue squares); then the screen goes black; then windows 8.1...
