Startup Delay Time - Reduce in Windows 8

So i was wondering that in windows 7, gadgets and startup items load immediately after getting to desktop. But in 8.1, half the start up items loaded immediately, and other half (including gadgets/touchpad driver) loaded after a delay of about 10 seconds. Thanks to this trick, everything loads...

Drivers update for Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030

Ran into a bit of problem with wifi. On Intel 16.11.0 It won't connect on startup automatically. Once i click on wifi icon in taskbar, it would connect sometimes immediately and sometimes it will take a little while to connect. Googled the issue, and suggestion was to disable the "Bluetooth...

I have driver 15.4.1.1, dated 23 Jan 2013. This is the default driver on a Windows 8.1 update 3 ISO based install. Since it is working fine, i haven't tried to update it to 16.11 yet. :) Should I?

    Max Processor State 99%

No point changing the minimum processor state. Changing the maximum to 99% will disable turbo boost, which will result in lowered "maximum power usage" thus less heat. This can help in gaming on a laptop as CPU isn't as important in gaming, and less heat from CPU will leave more room for GPU to...

Windows 8: Never uses all of my memory

I got 16GB just for the heck of it back in 2011 when DDR3 was going dirt cheap. OS barely uses 2GB for itself, rest all depends on the apps you use. So most of my RAM is used for caching only. Only time i have seen system using 8GB+ RAM is while installing 200 updates in one go on windows 7...

Answer: Why it can take Disk Cleanup so long

Just installed about 100 updates on 8.1 and they took about 7GB space. But soon after i was done with installation, "System Modules Installer Worker" became active again in task manager. This time it wasn't checking for/installing any updates. It was cleaning up and i didn't touch disk cleanup...

Win 8 Updates way beyond ridiculous

It's about peace of mind too. Security is the reason many are running 8.1. Else you could even install Win 7 SP1 and turn updates off, and it'll keep on working just fine. No surprise there.

Any way to downgrade windows 8.1 to windows 8? SLOW!!!!

I have 2 laptops. One with SSD and one with 7200RPM hard drive. Using 8.1 fresh install on both and it works smooth & fast. May be updating from 8 to 8.1 causing problem. And i have fast boot disabled as i don't need it on SSD anyway (don't want it writing to hyberfil at every shutdown). And...
