If this is on a Notebook you also have to disconnect the AC charger along with removing the battery. Once that is done the system will shut down completely, actually Power Off from NO Electricity going to it. You then can Restart the system once you reconnect the AC charger and put the battery...

[Q] Installing Win7 on Win8.1 Laptop as Dual Boot

Not knowing the model notebook you have or the age of it, it is hard to say. Although I have Win 8 running in a VM on my Win 7 desktop system I rarely use it and do not have any system designed specifically for Win 8. From what I have read Some feature in Win 8 Locks the EFI ( BIOS ) so no other...

Solved How's everyones Windows 8 experience going?

Not using it as it does not add anything over Win 7 that I need or want. As to the above poster and Bugs in Win 7 I'd look at your system as having bugs, not the OS.

Solved How to remove the Homegroup entry in File Explorer

I disagree. Even with CS, giving you the start button and classic start menu there are just to many things MS has Farked in Win 8 for me to ever get use to it. MS has gone the Mac way with limited user settings. I just read a post on another forum about how you have to copy registry settings...

Solved How to remove the Homegroup entry in File Explorer
