I thought I made that clear. Access Denied when trying to change the permissions on the ROOT folder, like in the 2 tutorials I have read, and if I go and try to change the key value I also get Access Denied.

As the title says I want to remove the entry for the Homegroup from the left panel of all File Explorer windows. Tried the Win 7 method and I get Access Denied to the reg key needed to make the change. Try everything short of taking Complete ownership of the Reg data files and not sure Win 8...
