Thanks. For the few times I actually need to do this I will just use Office Picture Manager when in W 8. 10, I don't much like yet, so it doesn't matter there.

Ok, sorry, but I have no idea what you are saying about canvas vs whole picture. To recap, I do exactly the same thing in 8 & 10 that I have always done in 7. That is, right click the image, rotate 90* CW, upload. 7 and 8 are both WPV while 10 is, I think, PV or something. Anyway disregard 10...

Thanks Rich but don't spin your wheels just on my behalf. At least I now know I have a couple of options. Still really puzzled though why 7 and not 8.

Beats me. I've been playing so much I'm wondering if in safe mode before I snagged the wrong pic. Rich, I really appreciate all you have done for/with me here. For the time being I'll just do one of two things; take pics in landscape or upload with W7. One day we will wonder how we missed...

Here goes. BD uninstalled. Task and system start items disabled.

So, what happens if I try uploading directly from my S3... Oh, well...L--O--L. Edit: I've deleted all but the three originally posted pics just to avoid confusing myself any more.

Try again in W8. Bit Defender uninstalled, Windows Defender activated. Vertical pic rotated 90 CW.

Uh, maybe not. Just discovered BD did not disable and so was running when I posted above. Also, I attached that pic by dragging what was previously UL to here. Back to the desktop for this one. Edit: Ok, I'm lost. Need to take a break unless there is something obvious.

Ok, did this with W10 and only Bit Defender AV is running so disabled it. Let's see what a pic does. Edit: Looks like Bit Defender might be the culprit. Next post will be with it enabled again.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking and it might shorten the investigative process...we'll see.
