I didn't contact my manufacturer yet but I think I will now because I did a full wipe on my computer and reinstalled all of the drivers and still no help, so I assume it's a hardware problem.

Yeah, I have a driver installation CD that came with my computer so I didn't have to use the site. And I did notice the speakers seemed a bit louder when I reinstalled it, but it could have been my imagination haha.

Yeah, I uninstalled, booted, installed, and booted again. Edit: Is Realtek High Defintion Audio is the right driver? Because that's the one I reinstalled.

Tried reinstalling the driver, didn't work, and there's no available updates. :/

It's no problem, thanks for guiding me there, but I'm only seeing Speakers, Digital Output, and Microphone. No headphones or anything. Could that be part of the problem of why my headphones aren't working?

It's just so strange because one day it was working perfectly with the same ear buds and such, and one day its just isn't working correctly. Is it possible there is a setting I accidentally switched off or something?

I tried it with a pair of Apple ear buds, no luck. It works perfectly fine when I plug it in my iPhone, just not in the computer.

yes, my earbuds look like the first image and my audio jack looks like the second image but its just a picture of headphones, not with the mic in it. But when I first got my laptop it was fine, so I assume I have the right things, it just stopped working correctly today.

i tried dislodging any dust but there wasn't any. And while looking at the Sound menu, are my headphones supposed to show up in the playback/recording menu? All I see is speakers, realtek digital output, microphone, and line in (which is showing it is not plugged in) And yes, I mean the laptop...
