    Welcome to Eight Forums

Small talk is better then absolute silence. :) A leak would help this forum a bit, don't see that happening soon.

    Windows 8 x64 only?

Office 2007 is also, what? 3 years old? (lol) Office 2010 will have a 64-bit version.

    Is there a plan B.?

Its NT6.1 to make it more compatible with Vista applications. Windows 6.1 would've been wierd. Besides its the product that matters, not the name. :)

    MSE inbuilt for Windows 8

Yeah its pretty bad. Its Microsoft's product, they should have a right to include any of their programs in it without consequence.

    MSE inbuilt for Windows 8

I wasn't saying they 'should' change the name. I was saying that it wouldn't fit in, in the Live Suite unless it was something like Live Security Essentials.

    MSE inbuilt for Windows 8

MicroSoft Security Essentials Live is a bit long. How about Live Security Essentials.

    MSE inbuilt for Windows 8

Nice thought there but wouldn't it have to be a Live product? Would be rather odd to have all Live products in the suite and then MSE, which would stick out a lot.

    MSE inbuilt for Windows 8

I think during the setup/installation phase of Windows they should allow you to install/not install Windows programs (such as IE, MSE, WLMessenger, WLMail, etc).

    MSE inbuilt for Windows 8

I doubt it. The EU will probably complain about it to much. Do not think Microsoft wants to go through that again.

    Windows 8 x64 only?

I can understand people not wanting change because 'everything works fine the way it is now' but we need to keep moving to better things. Keeping support for such outdated hardware isn't helping. As for programs, well, the developers should be fixing any problems with the most current...

    Windows 8 x64 only?

That was also 3 years ago. ;) Although no I do not remember it. Lol Maybe not decades, but who knows? Obviously the move to 64-bit is speeding up since OEM's are preinstalling 64-bit on almost every machine capable of running 64-bit. Microsoft (in my opinion) needs to just push it. If people...

    Windows 8 x64 only?

It'll take decades if they 'wait' for everyone to be ready. A push is needed. Besides, if they made Windows 8 64-bit only, that means they can focus more on ONE architecture with fixing bugs.

    Windows 8 x64 only?

While I agree, its the fact that we are catering to older machines, 32-bit architectures, etc. That progress with 64-bit applications and I'm betting even some progress on Windows itself is being hindered. I say go 64-bit only. If people really NEED Windows 8, fine, just make sure you have a...

    Windows 8..... coming soon

Windows 7 is getting dull now that I've had it so long. Need something new and different! Although you can't expect much to be different in a pre-alpha/alpha. :|

    My Windows 8 Concept

Kind of.. bleh. Not something you'd ever see my desktop look like. The fact that you think the more stuff on a desktop the more professional it looks, is rather false. If anything most common PC users clutter their desktop while the more professional/tech savvy users keep their desktop clean. ;)

    Windows 8 2012.

We'll Neowin is its own source as well, no need for multiple threads though if information is the same. (I'm not saying it is as I haven't looked). http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/11/21/windows-8-is-coming-in-2012
