Honestly I am more inclined to take this laptop back and make the Win7 work for me. Or get a mac. I'm not going to spend more money on getting this thing to work. I tried setting it right next to the router and it worked better, but I don't know if that was a proximity thing or a coincidence...

Also, my router is not behind a desk or anything like that. It is on a small table by itself. And again, all other devices access the wifi just fine, so if the issue was that the router is smothered, I don't understand why only one of the devices on the network has issues.

I read through the troubleshooting but I am not sure if this applies to my problem. I don't think that the problem is with the router, all of the other computers and devices on the network work just fine. My laptop is the only one with Windows 8 and the only one with problems.
