Sometimes sfc /scannow needs to be run 3 or 4 times to fix corrupt files and restarting after each run. How did you uninstall the first update? Regards

I had exactly the same problem,sorted it by uninstalling these 2 updates and hiding them: KB3035583 and KB3068708,there are many problems from many people if you google these 2 updates. Regards

Try continually pressing "ESC" key on a restart to bring up the one time boot menu where you can select which option to boot from,obviously make sure the USB drive is connected when doing this. Regards
