I'm putting together a laptop with a Celeron 1.1ghz. I have 3GB memory, with option to go up to 8GB. I have an identicle laptop with win7x64 and 8 gb ram with the 1.5 Celeron. I haven't played with the new 8.1 to know for sure but it does seem a bit slower, think its probably lack of ram?

Success, 20 hours ordeal but I have Win 8.1 on my daughters B- gift. Need to find a case/bag on Amazon or ebay and delivered by the 5t. Cheep as possible. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks for listening to the venting!

Took 2 hrs and it downloaded all the updates got about 1/2 way installed another couple hours then it said the updates failed so it took another couple hours to uninstall them. Right now I am trying again just doing the non security updates, its about 15% complete installing them. Altogether...
