I noticed Remote Desktop currently seems to depend on reaching my Verizon gigabit router and was just wondering, is it even possible to have it operate off a switch alone? I'd also like to have it avoid the router even when it's on the network.

Is there a shortcut for "all apps" without the search? I use win+Q often, but end up taking the additional step of closing search half the time. Something fast should be the same as left click/win+z and pressing all apps.

Item 3 is wrong, because whether it's a 1024x600 netbook or a 2560x1600 30 inch monitor, the new Start Menu is faster. Nobody will even try to adapt if they put the training wheels on. I wouldn't be surprised to see noobs getting around faster than vets if this is enabled.

I think it copies the value and ownership permissions to those keys automatically, at least after restart. I've tried this word for word on two installs, a 32-bit and 64-bit and on both of them Homegroup just sticks around. It doesn't really make sense.

Usually the resolution needed and the resolutions listed by default are two different things, if you don't want to wreck the other computer's desktop. You can enter the resolution by hand.
