I'm no expert on exFAT, does it have no security limits like FAT32? And not home atm, is exFAT an option for formatting?

Would that not hinder the performance of the SSD I plan to put all my applications and work software on (Adobe CC, VS, UE4, Unity, etc)? There is only about 6 applications installed on that drive including my Security Suite, so there isn't anything major I need to backup if I want to reformat...
