I have this problem as well, but only on some app tiles. They are all installed and updated. I'm going to reinstall the ones that have the problem, as suggested above... would be nice to know why this happened, but going to chalk it up to early release glitch.

Ever since the service came back, it takes forever for me to get my mail from my Hotmail account in my Outlook 2013 client (which is how I normally check it). If I check it through the website, it's fine... but through Outlook it takes well over a minute to get my mail. Anyone else still...

Just checked again and it's back up for me as well... very slow though. Probably getting slammed.

That's exactly right. In fact, the start menu has never been gone either. It's just a full screen start menu now. It's the small, classic start menu that people want back. Personally, I'm not sure why people are so fixated on this, the full screen menu has been working fine for me. In fact...

Yeah. If it wasn't a problem for people they would put a watermark on the final retail version. But they don't because it is.

Wait... I'm getting ready to install this, but was having some trouble. But you are saying if I install the preview over my legit copy of Win 8 I will get a watermark? Forget that. Nothing compelling enough in this update to deal with all these problems. Thanks for the info, though.

Thanks... yeah, it actually is a SATA drive. External USB drives are just a SATA drive and a basic SATA to USB dock in a plastic shell, for the most part.

Decided I didn't feel like waiting for drivers from Gigabyte and cracked the external drive case open and put the drive inside my computer as an internal drive. It's working out fine.

It is pretty bleak at the moment. Hopefully, they can get some developers on board. Right now I am using Netflix, Pin Steam, Hulu, Kindle and MS Solitaire... that's about it, and I could probably survive without any of them.

Has anyone found a working fix for this? I have seen a lot of comments that the permissions fix does not work. Have not seen anything that people are consistently saying fixes this problem.

Mine is working normally. Do you have the latest firmware installed? It came out before Win 8, but maybe it will help anyway.

I was in touch with Gigabyte customer service today... the rep told me they will have USB 3.0 Win 8 drivers on their website soon for their H77 series motherboards (which is what I have). If anyone else happens to have this issue, you may want to look for that.
