Never ever be stupid enough to pay the ransom. If you do you are as bad as the criminals, you are financially backing their next venture. And you deserve it when they don't decrypt your files.
I have copied all data onto my other NAS drive. It's just 200Gb backups of old pc c: drives over the past ten years, not live data.
I can format it now.

convert z: /fs:ntfs gives error message cannot convert network drive
