    Why I love today’s Windows 8.1 Update

Has anyone found an ISO image for the 8.1 update? I prefer doing clean installs with updates slipstreamed into the install. It cuts down on the time needed to get everything back up.

Windows 8.1 users: It's time to move to Windows 8.1 Update

Yes, they were provided through windows update. 31mb just seems a little lacking for an update that was receiving so much attention. Edit: Hold on a second.... now there's a new update that's nearly 900mb. That's more what I was expecting.

Windows 8.1 users: It's time to move to Windows 8.1 Update

I just installed those updates. They seem a little small for such an anticipated update to the OS. Are these the right update files?

Can the new Windows 8.1 bring back users?

Not if it follows the same path as Win 8. I kind of liked ME, but it was replaced so quickly by XP I never spent much time with it. Why did you leave Vista off the list?

Can the new Windows 8.1 bring back users?

The thread title suggests that Win8 has had a plethora of users who walked away. In reality Win8 has never had a large user base to lose.

Microsoft: More than 200 million Windows 8 licenses sold

The numbers are misleading at the very least. I purchased a laptop years ago and the only OS choice was Vista. When the laptop arrived I immediately wiped the HDD and installed XP. I'm certain I'm not the only person to do that. Many people now are not given a choice of OS, and when their...

Who makes the best disk drives?

I don't use spinners any more; only SSD's. Back when I did I always seemed to have the most problems with Maxtor, and occasionally WD drives. I haven't had a single problem with an SSD and am now on my 3rd drive.

Microsoft may bring back full start menu with 8.2

I'll believe it when I see it. Microsoft may finally bring back full Start menu with Windows 8.2 "The most important change, as Thurrott hears it, is that Microsoft will finally be bringing back the full Start menu to the Windows 8.2 desktop mode. Unlike the current Start button that Microsoft...

    EIGHT - Switch to Seven

Debra, you will most likely get your answer on the Asus support forum. Google it... You can easily "upgrade" to Win7, but you might have trouble finding drivers. Have no idea what the widescreen thing is you're talking about.

Windows 8.1 RTM (Core, Pro, Enterprise x86, x64) leaked

Are you sure you want the RTM version and not the final release? I don't think the RTM is available any longer, if that's what you want.

Simple Trickery to download the 8.1 ISO!

Worked great for me too... I'm just happy I was able to get the ISO before Microsoft closes the loophole. The big question now is how long before 8.2? They've already had to trash the 8.1 RT upgrade. My guess is its only a matter of time before MS is forced into another upgrade for 8.1 pro...

Any way to downgrade windows 8.1 to windows 8? SLOW!!!!
