All drivers have been accounted for from the acer website. No errors during installation but still the same issue. I have both intel and Nvidia graphics, but the nivdia ones only kick in when gaming. Its the Intel ones which i would assume are responsible for display resolution.

Hey, yea I cant get 1080p under windows 7 either. I tried to find a driver for the generic pnp but could not find anything that it would take. It could be the screen ill try to take it back to the shop to exchange it.

I can output just fine to another monitor @ 1080p via HDMi and Mini display port. No the laptop has a 1080p display so that is not the issue.
