Windows 8 is an enterprise 'non-starter' because IT ......

No. This is from the story: "They don't see the value in the changes in Windows 8 [compared to Windows 7]." There's a big difference between generic change, which you are eternally hung up on, and specific change, which is the issue with 8. I can't believe after all this time you still don't get it.

Just how much do people hate Windows 8?

That's not good comparison. How are you commuting to work now? Same or different? If different, how different? Were you going by subway to your old building and now Piper Cub to your new one? Does your new building have conventional doors and elevators and hallways and bathrooms like the old...

Microsoft's 128GB Surface Pro sells out within hours

Great irony here because you have not changed your POV on this since - ever. People have told you over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over specifically why they don't...

My personal view on Windows 8 & where Microsoft is heading

You didn't have to, it's implied. How else are the numbers placed there to begin with? David explained what happened when a discrepancy is found, and at that point you have to evaluate. Obviously I don't know his work situation, but what if one of those discrepancies leads to another decision...

My personal view on Windows 8 & where Microsoft is heading

Then why hasn't the software been written? You think companies would rather keep all these humans on payroll, which is the typically the biggest expense for any business, instead of streamlining for greater profit? One big reason it hasn't been done is that a gazillion bazillion spreadsheet...

FCC plans to free up spectrum, boost Wi-Fi speeds

The U.S. government is using that band already. See, they can do whatever they want. We peons get the table scraps when they feel like it.

Windows head Steven Sinofsky leaves Microsoft

What you described will be called Windows 9. ;)

Windows head Steven Sinofsky leaves Microsoft

Sinofsky has to leave under "resignation" because if he left under "fired" his reputation would be damaged much worse than it is now. There's a guy who used to play MLB named Milton Bradley, just like the game co. If he wasn't the biggest jerk in his era he was No. 2. He played for 8 teams in...

Windows head Steven Sinofsky leaves Microsoft

From Brink's story: Man, did anyone like this guy? How could he have advanced so high with everyone in his wake quitting and/or ticked off?

Solved Bored with Metro already and other thoughts

The only criticism in slowhand818's post that I haven't read much about is the Safe Mode part. Otherwise, it's exactly what critics have been saying all year. Problem is, the critics of the critics have been ignoring it.

Windows head Steven Sinofsky leaves Microsoft

Actually, I take back what I said above this. It appears this could be nothing more than a failed power grab by Sinofsky. SOURCE: Sinofsky's Out At Microsoft Because He Wanted Steve Ballmer's Job

Windows head Steven Sinofsky leaves Microsoft

Exactly. For a hyperactive goofball like Ballmer to say 8 sales are "modest", they're most likely appalling.

What do normal people think of new Windows 8 PCs?

Nice cherry picking, HippsieGypsie. These five failures cancel out your five successes and are but a fraction of the failures in aviation history:

Windows 8 is a one way street for consumer PC users

Nor I. How does one do even do that?

What do normal people think of new Windows 8 PCs?

Well that's not the point that was argued. It's often just left at - change is good, different is good, etc. The kind of change is never mentioned. What you just typed is another way of saying what I've been saying for a freaking year. Welcome to the dark side sucker HAHAHAHAHA! I am trying...

Finally a DECENT full and objective review of surface RT

Camera phones have gotten better. We used to use a tiny point and shoot for some stuff and now that just sits in a drawer and I use my camera phone for spontaneous stuff all the time. Anyone got any info. about what the camera on the Surface produces?

Finally a DECENT full and objective review of surface RT

Having seen the Surface and messed around with it a little bit I like it. But this review has something that's off, and it's screen display. I like to take photos, and a lot of stuff affects the end result but the lens is the big deal for cameras. The better the lens, the better the photo...
