My version seems to be a little bit more recent, but I guess it's been bugged since a couple of updates. Hmm, weird. I hope Microsoft will fix this anytime soon, because I'd like to scan my pc once in a while without any crashes or bugs.

I don't think so, if multiple people start having problems with MSE at the same time there must have gone something wrong on Microsoft's Windows Defender development side. Btw, what version are you guys at? My version is 1.145.1461.0 according to the program itself...

Hey Jakubsar, I seem to have somewhat the same problem, though sometimes even my OS stops responding. I made a thread on Windows Defender problem with Windows 8. It seems that Windows Defender started acting strange since its last update through Windows Update? I don't know, but this is a weird...
