How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

Well then I'm screwed. I'll have to set up everything from scratch regarding email accounts. I have always backed WM that way. My eyesight is getting so bad that I can't read large buches of text very easily so tend to look for things I'm familiar with. Thanks and sorry to trouble you.

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

It's weird, W10 security wants me to enter the account details manually despite importing my backed up .iaf files containing all that information already. I'm scratching my head at the moment wondering what to do next......not your fault, but I just wondered if anyone had this experience. In the...

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

I've got it working now, thanks everyone and especially Endeavor for all the hard work. Is there any way of stopping Windows insisting on verifying user name and password for every account? I have 8 email accounts and simply imported the .iaf files backed up in my document folders. It will...

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

Sorry, I thought it only worked for the stated lower version. My bad. I was all tired and confused anyway as the upgrade took me ages to complete.. OK I will do as you instructed and thanks for everything.

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

Guys I have Win10 Pro 1909 (newly upgraded from Win7) & have got as far as line 12 and am confused as to what to do next. @Endeavour any ideas? (It doesn't work thus far)

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

Thanks. Wish I could get 1809. It wont install on my machine and it wont even clean install on an empty partition on my Disk 3 nor anywhere else. I think 1809 doesn't like my chipset and/or processor. Meanwhile I've hidden it for now on my existing 1709, or whatever that number is...

That's their corporate build number, the popular equivalent is Build 1709, easier to remember But I think you are due for an update possibly.

Although I've never used MAPI I too am confused by that. I've joined that site as it appears to be quite interesting.

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

Thanks. Yep, one looks at the contents of the Windows Mail folder in Program Files....totally different. I'm not sticking with any version because I'm concerned I'd miss out on essential security updates, if I wasn't careful.

How to reinstate WinMail onto Windows 8/10/11

It's not that easy to find the info in simple terms rather than a string of numbers but I assume this is what you want? By the way, apologies to all that we are discussing Win 10 in a Win 8 forum, but this is because this is the authoritative thread on the subject.
