It seems that hyper x doesnt support win 98 so i have move onto VMware player and accounted a new set of problems. i have created a new VM and added the win98 iso and a boot disk img i downloaded. problem is i cant get them to install. i bring up the boot menu and it gets to install windows...

It went through the installation process to the point where it ticked all the list off, copying system files etc then i got this error. any ideas? i think its probably a dodgy ms dos boot vdf but this is all new to me!

it downloaded. laughed when it asked me if i wanted to enable large disk support, for disks over 512MB!!!!!! its currently formatting my hard disk. starting to thin giving it 4GB was probably too much lol

Thanks Kari, as it happened I had done exactly what was in the instructions. I think it could be the ms dos boot disk. I have downloaded it in exe format so going to try that! Can't get on the PC until tomorrow now but will report back if it works!
