Win8 Upgrade or Win8.1 New Install

I always enjoy having a second OS, currently 8 and 8.1. After release, I will have a 8 as a testing partition and 8.1 will be my production partition.

Win8 Upgrade or Win8.1 New Install

Purchase a 8.1 license, use my current 8 and apply the free upgrade to 8.1, or maybe have a 8.1 partition and a 8 partition.

Win8 Upgrade or Win8.1 New Install

Thanks for the replies, except I too would rather a clean install. I also prefer to have the dual boot option. My plans are a clean 8.1 install and use my free upgrade to my current 8 version, which will give me a back door and a test platform.

    Solved Win8-Win7 Dual Boot

With Win 7 and Vista, once I select the OS the boot process continues without going back and performing another BIO reload. With Win 8 and Win 7, when I select Win 7 from the Win 8 boot manager, a new BIOS reload happens and the Win 8 boot screen is bypassed.

Currently I have Win8 and Win7 installed on individual drives. Would it be more advisable to install on one drive in separate partitions? Thanks, Harold
