    Alright, So I've now disabled the lock screen thanks to your help. However my computer still times out on me. After about a minute or so of inactivity the screen will go dark, and if you do not immediately go back to it, it will boot you back to a login screen. So it is actually still locking...

    Solved Cannot disable lock screen, gpedi.msc not woring

    Ok so, I have followed the directions for disabling the ever annoying lock screen using gpedit.msc. I actually tried it on both of my Windows 8 laptops, with the same result. Windows cannot find gpedit.msc . Is there anything else I can do?
