    That happened to me when my hard drive was failing. Can you do a SMART check and see the hard drive status to make sure its not a hardware issue? There are several apps you can use for this phrpose. Speccy is one. The smart status is under the hard drive section.

    Just to make sure people following this thread are updated, a user reported refreshing their PC without an internet connection and the jump list was back to normal. So you could do that or wait for a simpler fix like me.

    You could use the built in backup tool in Windows 7 (Control Panel->Tools and Maintenance). Otherwise, you could just manually copy/paste files to the external hard drive.

    Yes I got mine from here as well. I also have a hunch this has to do something with Windows 10. But I hope for love's sake we dont have to upgrade to windows 10 to get this fixed.
