    Thank you for your help. Noticed that I have it on my desktop (I think it was a carry over from win 7 when I upgraded to win 8) but does not show up in win explorer when desktop is highlighted. Any thoughts on why it doesn't show up but is there?

    Remove the checked "all folders" does remove the user name tree. However I had it checked to see the Recycle Bin, which I wanted since it is not visible under Desktop like in Win 7. Is there a way to get Recycle Bin to show without checking the "all folders" in navigation pane?

    Downloaded the user name removal file and ran it. I restarted and opened windows explorer with my user name still there under the desktop tree. Then I opened the file and it only has one line.     Solved Installing Virtual XP in Hyper-V - Using old Win7 XP file?

    Unfortunately everything worked except for registration. It would not accept the key within the file or my other keys from old computers. So I converted my windows 7 .vhd file to .vhx and ran it with registration finally accepting one of my keys. Thanks for the suggestion.
