Hi again, ever since upgrading to 8.1 I am unable to use the mail app, the store app and most metro apps. when I open one of them the immediately get stuck and eventually crash. Another issue I found is that the brightness adjuster wont work no more.

Weird I don't use Norton it's bad, I use Windows Defender

lol I realy don't know, it was a odd problem with an odd solution. who knows, maybe it wasn't the bios update but one of the other updates that came along with it? its too bad there is no update history in this software. Perhaps there's a log file somewhere edit: I think I found it...

HOLY ****ING rubbish SORRY FOR THE LANGUAGE BUT, i just did this bios update if a software provided my samsung and some other updates with it and the issue was SOLVED!!!!!!!111 this is a hell of a relief Thanks to everyone for the help!

I didn't try every format I tried jpg and it didn't help It did find stuff it could not fix, from this point i'm guessing you want the log?

im sick of this issue it happens for too long i can't open photos of any kind with the windows photo viewer, i dont know how it happened and i dont remember when. when I try to open nothing happens.. its like something happens for a fraction of a second and nothing. I tried almost everything...
