    Solved Icon change in 'Folders'

I didn't know myself how to do it, but all answers can be easily found in this forum or in the Windows 7 Help Forums All one has to do is a search on these forums (or Google), maybe that is why the more pro's here don't reply to these simple questions.

Windows 10 Available on July 29

Just got back on the computer (8.1) and saw the little white Windows Icon in my notification area. Free W10 upgrade and reserve now. OK, I reserved it just because it said that I could choose when to install, because not sure yet if I should. Just got my W8.1 computer about 2 months ago and...

Maybe a stupid question (again), tutorial

Again, moderators, forgive me. Never meant to say or start anything. SORRY, I will stick to asking help (stupid questions) and I hope the 7-8 Windows forum moderators and regular visitors will continue to help me.

Maybe a stupid question (again), tutorial

Forgive me, but "always located the second one down once you are in the tutorial sub-forum" I amd others would actually already have found the tutorial forum on http://www.eightforums.com/. The Tutorial (sub)-forum is at the bottom, with a link in the header (menu) I also just noticed for the...

Maybe a stupid question (again), tutorial

Indeed, thank you, but as an user of this forum (as so many others) and as an idiot (as so may others), would it not be better to have that Tutorial Forum a bit more prominent, since it is the first time I saw it after about 3-4 week being here, and many times was referred to a tutorial without...

Maybe a stupid question (again), tutorial

Does this forum (or 7 or 10 equivalent) have an area or general link that has all standard tutorials in one place. Many of the question I had, seemed to be in tutorials, but a search gives so many links/pages, that after 1-2-3 (max) search pages, it is easier to just ask the same question...

    Best way for recovery USB

Thanks for the prices, but I do not live in the USA (the world is bigger then that) Can I make a backup on a flash USB and W8.1 will accept and use it? That was one of the unknowns, thereby a question. Talking about prices here in Thailand, see my FLAG, The cheapest 500GB USB drive I can find...

    Best way for recovery USB

Well, unless I did something wrong with Macrium (90% of the options I really do not understand, so I just do standard stuff) The backup which I guess should be a 100% C-drive partition. Mine is now at about 42GB, Micrium also showed that, but the backup file is only 21GB, maybe compressed, and...

Which age category do you fall in?

Just noticed when again looking at the poll results. 90+ is still at 0 Anybody here currently getting there or is there and should change their vote? The first 90+ should deserve a special rank (after confirmation of course)

Which age category do you fall in?

WOW, nice poll, will read some post later on, but wanted to say this: I was surprised by the age results. Guess my age and the new generation even up at this time. It is about 60-40 for the younger generation (below 50) of course. Glad the see I am not the only old (not so old apparently)...

Fun >> Tell your computer live story

OK, this thread is just for fun reading and sharing your personal "travels" through the computer world, from the first ever computer you owned (or at school learned if you are younger). I hope not, but my guess is that I am a bit older than most here. When I went to school, in Holland...

    Best way for recovery USB

Hi, I would like to know which software is the best recommended here for a FULL backup of the C-drive.(OS+Apps+Settings+Documents+anything on the C-drive) Does Windows 8.1 recovery option do that or is it better to use an other software program? I have all setup so any downloads and other...

Solved Take full Ownership of your computer

I am not sure why, maybe because it is an "off the shelf, W8.1 pre-installed" computer, but as full admin I just do NOT have all permissions and just can not change the permission also in the properties and such. It seems I am not alone in that, according to my Google searches. But I found a...
