I've been using BandiCam along with its editor BandiCut. Both require a purchased license but well worth it IMHO. If it displays on your screen it can be captured.

Well I inserted a store-bought CD into the drive and when it opened I right clicked on the tab that appears in the task bar (bottom of the screen). A pop up dialog box opens, select "pin this program to the task bar" and that should do it. Previously WMP didn't appear in my start list but now...
