I have access to the DVD drive but it does not look like a DVD. It's just a folder with two subfolders called AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS, that have movie files inside them.
Media Center says it does not see a DVD.
chev65, I downloaded Windows Media Center. I can play DVD that are connected directly to the machine, I am having trouble with DVDs that are on another networked computer.
My new Windows 8 machine does not have a DVD drive.
I was hoping to play movies over the network.
I "shared" the DVD drive which is installed in my Windows 7 machine.
I mapped the drive to Y: on the Win8 machine. I can see it, it has two subfolders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS but I cannot find a...
Shawn,
That is a good tip. I have set it to always open the Desktop version of IE10. Is there any reason to ever use the Metro version on an old fashioned desktop? Maybe there is something I am not aware of but I do not see any reason.
Similarly, can I use the Metro Mail app. Is there a...
My Internet Explorer Tile has stopped working and is now missing.
I did not install any other Internet Browsers.
I did try to add a second Internet Explorer tile that opens the regular Internet Explorer. That didn't work and now the normal tile is gone.
When in the Start Screen, typing...
I don't have a Homegroup setup and file sharing is turned off, and yet there are several items listed under "Network" in File Explorer.

It worked on 2 HP laptops.
It did not not work on 2 separate Dell desktops (quadcore and...

I attach a screenshot from Disk Management. It only shows one partition. Diskpart also...
When I issued the "clean" command on my 64GB USB drive, I got this message:
DiskPart has encountered an error: Access is denied
See the System Event Log for more information.
It did delete the existing partition. I don't know if it's related, but this drive shows up as having only 58GB, even...
