think since i'm going to do a clean install of 10 i'll just use the mobo's raid utility to do it before installing 10. no locked volumes that way. honestly prob should of done that in the first place. as for loosing the data on those drives no big deal, cause universal is a copy of all the data...

yes just something using one or more of the drives, hence why i asked about doing it in safemode.
