Yesterday, after reviewing the suggested steps in this forum, I did uninstall Malwarebytes, plus disabled Windows Defender & Firewall, & this solution worked!
Windows 8.1 was successfully installed with no errors.
I’ve been trying to upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 & unfortunately everytime when the installer reaches 40%, I get the message ”Windows failed to install.”.
I have tried the following commands in Command Prompt also, but nothing’s worked.
- sfc /scannow

Everything is working great. It’s just that I’d like to delete aIl the Windows 7 sound schemes after upgrading to Windows 8 Pro (considering how I’d never use them). I’ve tried the solution listed above, but so far nothing has worked.
