Edit: I ran into the same error. I've tried everything usual but nothing worked. It appeared it was Windows update the culprit. I looked for "troubleshooter" then "Windows Update". Started the thing... Windows asked to troubleshoot in admin mode... I said yes... Then Windows fixed Windows update...

John could you do me a favor and do a sfc /scannow to see if you have corrupted files as well? And YES it sleeps... But for how long... Lol

Yes it did. But time will tell me if it lasts. I don't recommand to ditch your current OS yet.

Of course it needs a clean install! Don't throw your current Windows yet or you will be sorry! I run both OS. On a positive note, for a preview, it is surprisingly stable!

I installed Windows 10 with lan plugged (online) with all defaults settings. Opened cmd prompt admin and guess what? When doing powercfg /requests I got srvnet again and media player sharing. I deactivated files and printer sharing then reboot to kill srvnet and turned off media sharing and...

Last week, for the first time since a long time, I've experienced that sleep issue (nothing with powercfg /requests). It's bizarre and it seemed to be related to Chrome. Once I've closed Chrome, my PC went to sleep.... I'm totally clueless about that, it never happened before. I know that Chrome...

It was just meant as an example for Win 8 to be a transition Windows. Example: why when I go to control panel, account settings then modify, does it switch to Modern UI?? My point is why do I sometimes find a parameter in MUI and sometimes in C panel? I think this transition Windows is not...
