The only install have done this week was for the new Malwarebytes. I just uninstalled the new version of Mbam and Defender is back and working again.

When I try to open Defender, I get the following message... "This app has been turned off and isn't monitoring your computer" I can't turn it back on... all I get is the above message. I haven't installed any other AV and can't see that I have had one installed by bloatware.

I never updated this thread... sorry. Since I reported this happening it stopped doing it after a while. There has been no recurrence and all seems fine.

Well... Thank You for trying. I will let you know if I catch it and find anything out. But so far, it has always done it when the machine is in sleep mode and I'm not near it.

I have a HP 110-210 Desktop Series.

The GPU is hovering around 42c and the Core around 42c. There are green check marks at 42c... if the temp goes up to 43c the green check marks change to a red upwards arrow and after a second or 2 they go back to 42 and green check marks again.

I got Speed Fan 4.52 We don't have or had any AC problems that I'm aware of.

It usually powers down when I am away from the PC and when I come back and notice it has switched off, that is when I reboot.
