Very good except that Hybrid boot that is speeding up your PC start lol. I think you are better off living with the way WDP shuts down. The only reason you are getting problems with the shut down is because programs are still running, switch them off before you shut down ........... no problem :)
Just a point to note I am happy that WDP is working fine on my PC but I still get the occasional bluescreen, bear in mind some of your problems maybe down to WDP
There are different types of BIOS but you should find it under the SATA configuration.
If it is set to IDE you should try it out as AHCI and Vice versa
Note you can not just change the setting to AHCI you need to make a registry change first, going back the other way should not be a problem...
I do not think it it is likely that this is caused by updates but I wouldn't rule out a virus you may want to scan with Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows and Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus...
Not good :( then try this; http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-windows-8-a.html?ltr=S
Is your Bios set to IDE or AHCI for the HDD?
It sounds to me like something is maybe running in the background, I would suggest checking your start up programs (msconfig) firstly unchecking all that you do not need and if that doesn't help unchecking the rest, restarting each time until you find the culprit.
As it has recently started I...
Hello Tawe, welcome to the forum
Filling out your system specs would help us to better answer your questions.
This problem can be caused by both hardware or software problems, from my own experience WDP can in some circumstances mistake your HDD/SSD for a removable device.
When you install...
The Intel Graphics Media accelerator 3150 chip is not the best but it should support resolutions high enough to run apps, have a look here for a newer driver to install...
If you want to read it here is my post; http://www.eightforums.com/installation-setup/3402-windows-boot-manager-under-uefi.html a lot of useful info was contributed to it
Hello ayres
Mouse over the Windows flag and select Search, type in Device Manager and click on the magnifying glass to search, Under settings you should now see three apps have been found, click on settings then select Device Manager.
In Device Manager click on the little arrow next to...
I have learnt something since my last post and that is both Boot managers are installed I believe Windows 8 Boot manager would be the default one. Try connecting the esata then booting up to Windows 7, then do msconfig and change the boot OS to WIN 7 reboot the PC and then try it again without...
Thank you SIW2
To confirm that I understand what it does. It saves me typing MSConfig and selecting the Boot manager.
This would have been a neat answer, it works nicely under Windows 7 but does not work under WDP so I can only do a quick change one way :(
Get it to work under WDP and it...
Yes I know what you mean, its just the timing of WDP manager that is annoying I think I will stay with the 7 boot manager for the time being at least I still have the option to go back again.
Thank you all for your help :)
I now have windows 7 Boot manager with 7 as default OS how do I change it to 7 Boot manager with WDP as default OS, without it switching back to the WDP Boot loader?
What exactly should this do? bearing in mind I want WDP as the default windows
I am not sure I follow this either as I do not want to delete WDP. Just change when the Boot manager appears or if I cannot do this then switch to the Windows 7 Boot manager assuming that it will work with WDP and...
