Got new network storage i am lost in set up

Depending on who you talk to RAID is an acronym for "Redundant Array of Independant Discs" or, "Redundant Array of Inexpensive Discs". Either one will work in a pinch. There are basically two types of RAID. One involves mirroring and the other involves striping. More comprehensive types involve...

    Introducing Windows 11

So do you think they learned anything from the Windows 10 fiasco? I mean it's nice that they got rid of Cortana but I heard on Level One Techs that something much more invasive is in the game now. Hopefully they disposed of the integrated key logger that kept getting reinstalled and reactivated...

Overlocked to 4.5Ghz but maximum speed only hits 4.41 Ghz

As an after thought 4.5 GHz could be your target speed. CountMike makes a valid point about leaving something in "auto" mode in UEFI. IF your stock speed is 3.5 GHz you're already achieving an excellent o.c. I'm curious as to what sort of cooling you're using.

I concur. There are other third party software that can do the same thing. I appreciate the fact that you can refuse to install the other software Iobit offers and uninstall the entire application later, when you are done with it (unlike so many other "installer" programs). There are other, more...

The issue still appears to point to your CD/DVD ROM drive. There is a little freeware tool that might be of some assistance that my daughters use as I can't always "be there" to fix PC issues for them: It is called Iobit Driver Booster. Sometimes this application will fix Active X issues. It's...

Looks to me like you know what you're doing. I wish I could be more help. I have not seen this error code in many years and now that I think of it this happened to me on a Dell Inspiron. I was attempting to install a 64 bit o/s on a unit that originally used a 32 bit o/s because I was limited to...

An error occurred. Class not registered (0x80040154) Close Windows Backup and try again.

Hello, Jan I find it interesting that you're getting this problem on a fresh install. In fact that is the best time to make a system image backup with the backup tool. Do you know if you're using a 64 bit or 32 bit o/s? It can make a difference. If you can make the image on another hard drive...

    Network HD lost data

Dare I say it? Sure. Once upon a time in my innocence and mass ignorance I owned this abomination. As far as I can remember this had been a problem with WD MY BOOK. I guess they finally have come clean with the issue or enough people complained about it. I called Western Digital to explain the...

Computer acting weird: certain things not working like they should or at all

Could be a ton of things. If you can still go into safe mode there may still be hope. Make sure Adobe Flash is completely removed. Make sure you have an updated Java script even if you use Google. Make sure your browsers are updated. In fact, make sure you're caught up on all your updates. Check...

WINDOWS INSTALLER HOG & HIDDEN ... DiskCleaner kudos

The Battle of the Bloat is an ongoing saga. I don't expect it shall change any time soon. Back in the day when every bit and byte of storage was critical programmers found very creative ways of using and reusing the same lines of code. Nowadays that isn't done anymore. They just keep writing on...

Overlocked to 4.5Ghz but maximum speed only hits 4.41 Ghz

IF it shows correctly in CPUZ Bench Test it should also show correctly in Windows Properties. I have same issue.
