    Reformat question

It's been a while since I needed to reformat so I'm here for a refresher. My HD has the following partitions: -C: (OS) -D: (recovery) -E: Data I would like to reformat but to have my E: drives files remain where they are. Once reformatted to factory settings will that leave my E: alone...

    Chrome is crashing

I'm currently only using Malewarebytes and Avast AV. This just started suddenly a few days ago. I'll take your suggestion and run a scan.

    Chrome is crashing

Over the past few days I've noticed that when I click on a news link in Chrome or IE, half the time the page crashes and I'm informed "this page cannot load at this time." I am curious to know if anybody else is experiencing this issue and if so, is there a solution available or do we just wait...

    Opening outlook.com

Over the past few days I have been unable to open my email (outlook). Each time I click on the link (as per attachment) a new tab opens for a few seconds and then closes immediately. The only way I can open Outlook is by right clicking and selecting "open link in incognito window". I'm...

    C drive filling up

Since I posted my initial request I reformatted my entire drive. My C: drive has cleared up entirely and I have the room I need to work without any concerns. Thanks again.

    Self creating partitions

The partitions you see highlighted in red were created on their own. I had nothing to do with any of them. This goes back to my initial comment that partitions where just appearing without my input. I'm simply trying to understand if I can wipe them out and restore space on my HD.

    Self creating partitions

I'm having trouble accessing the information on each partition so I took this screen shot to illustrate what is happening. I would like to delete all the highlighted drives to free up space but I'm not sure if that will cause any problems. Any thoughts? Thanks

    Self creating partitions

As a Win 8.1 user I noticed some months ago that my C: drive (my OS is stored on this) randomly started creating new partitions and this happened in the span of about one month. In fact there are currently four ranging in size from 128MB to over 1Gig and none of them are filled to capacity...

    C drive filling up

I agree that my HD could be larger but for now that is all I have to work with. I will move some space from my partitioned drive to C: for now. Eventually a new HD or even new PC will be obtained. While we are on this subject, the only software that I am familiar with for moving space is...

    C drive filling up

I don't run games on my computer and only install programs that I need to do my work. My C: has a capacity of 104 GB so this is why I was asking if diverting free space from my partitioned drive will help? I would like to transfer free space from my partitioned drive to the C: so unless I...

    C drive filling up

Hello Thank you for replying. I suspected that was the case but I wanted to verify it. If I increase my disk space on C: I'm guessing that will solve the problem as well?

    C drive filling up

My OS (Win 8.1) is stored on my C: while my recovery is the D: . When I install software I try to ensure that everything is installed on the partioned drive, E:. So far most of the programs I've installed end up sending files to the C: and it has filled up preventing me from installing...

    OS C: drive filling up

I'm not sure if I posted this question in the proper forum so I apologize for my error. I've noticed that when I install programs onto my partitioned drive "E", many files and programs transfer onto my C: drive. Last night it indicated that C: is reaching full capacity. I would like to...

Removing Win 8.1 startup & lock screens problem

Hello Brink Unfortunately that did not help. For reasons which I cannot explain, this one PC has the ability to create issues which are not common and can't be resolved by the standard solutions. Thanks for your time and help.
