Windows 8.1 doesn't auto-install drivers after installation

Yesterday I made a clean installation of Win 8.1 Pro x32 (version 6.3 build 9600)
on my tablet (Dell venue 10 pro 5055).

The wifi worked out of the box.
The problem is that Windows Update doesn't want to download and install the correct drivers. At the moment I can't use touchscreen, webcam etc...

I know I can solve using softwares like Drivers Booster or downloading drivers from the manufacturer website but I'll want to avoid that since those drivers gave my problems with the webcam in the past.

If I reach Win Update from the control panel I get this:
---last search for updates: never
---installed updates: never
---you recive updates for: just Windows
(or something like that since I use it italian)
---If I click on "Check Updates" the loading bar loads in loop and nothing happen.

I tryed solving this doing that:
1) I checked that the "PreventDeviceMetaData" registry key was set on 0
2) I used the "Reset Windows Update Tool" 2nd function to "Reset the windows update components"
but nothing has changed...

Can you help me guys?

Update:
I've updated all the drivers with Driver Booster but touchscreen, stylus, battery indicator, hardware buttons etc don't work the same...

Problem partially solved:
I had to use the Driver Troubleshooter tool included in Windows. I've never used it. Here's how to reach it:

1. Select the Start button.
2. Type Troubleshoot and then hit Enter.
3. Select Hardware and Devices under Find and fix other problems.
4. Click Run the troubleshooter.

Using this tool I discovered that Windows iso contained and installed a wrong driver (Controller I2C Intel Atom) that avoided also every other drivers to work correctly.
So I reached the Dell website and dowloaded the correct "version" of this driver. Boom! Immediately everything started working correctly.

At this point I tought "Why don't use driver booster now?".
Well DriverBooster reinstalled again the wrong "I2C Intel Atom" driver and probably a wrong GPU driver too ("Intel HD graphics").
I suppose Win 8.1 has an hardware detection bug.
I had to use a restore point to unistall the wrong driver installed by DriverBooster.

IN CONCLUSION
The tablet works at 100% now but I have this 2 annoying problems:
1) Battery seeems to last less and I can't chose a power plan when clicking the battery icon. Which driver can cause this?
2) The screen brightness increases and decreases indipendently without a reason. I disabled the "adaptive brightness" option when configuring the default power plan (I can't create new ones) but nothing has changed!
Again, which driver can cause this? (I believe this problem was generated by the wrong drivers installed by DriverBooster, as I said I removed them all using a restore point but the bug is still present....)

Thanks KYHI. Yes, this is the website where I downloaded the correct Intel driver.
But the GPU driver seems missing from the list!
By the way, should I update the bios driver too? I've read it could be dangerous but could it improve the hardware detection?

About BIOS update: it is usually very helpful because of improved compatibility and fixed bugs (look at the description first, which problems has been fixed). And yes, it may be dangerous for your system, especially in two cases:
1) If you chose the wrong BIOS version or even sub-version. Carefully check it before update, look at the version number on the BIOS screen or a part # of your device. Usually the update program should check these parameters and refuse updating if the version is incorrect, but I saw the cases when such check didn't happen with all fatal consequences.
2) If the update process is interrupted, primarily because of low battery. Always charge it and connect the power supply before start.

As a DELL Fan - I have never had an issue when updating BIOS...
Also search for Driver by Service Tag....

After you get all dell driver installed then use windows update...
I have a venue pro and the Touch driver was critical to have
there was also some other driver pack that did all the sensors.
But I think that was part of touch driver...

After all is said, done and working > use Dism and export drivers
What I do is Integrate the drivers into the Install.wim and WinRE.wim

This way you also have the Touch if in Recovery

I solved the touchscreen problem... but battery discharges very fast and audio don't work properly yet...
Windows Update is enabled and it has already installed everything...
In Control Panel -> Device managment there are listed 2 unknown devices but if WinUpdate seems unable to update their drivers.


As you can see here DELL provides just 13 drivers for my tablet (5 of them are useless applications, 0 for battery and 0 for GPU)
If I try to install EVERY other driver listed by Dell
(---Realtek audio
---auo/boe touch panel
---wireless 5810e LT mobile droadband
---broadcom BCM43241 wifi+bluetooth
---the last broadcom one listed)
but every time I get the error "The update installer operation is unsuccessfull"
At this point I think I'll contact DELL support I'll let you know in case


Could I have better results installing the Windows 10 drivers? A friend of mine has an identical tablet with Windows 10 and it works perfectly. I could export the drivers using dism... KYHI Is there a quicker way than this? Maybe using specific tools with GUIs etc?

Have you considered updating to Windows 10 ???

And there is a GUI version for DISM - Known as DISM++ > Dism++ | New Windows Utility

I've also noticed this. I uninstalled the AMD graphics driver and Windows installed the "basic display adapter" -
system seemed content with this, it did not offer to find and/or download the actual AMD driver.
On the contrary, an old Windows 7 system with an Nvidia 7600 AGP card found and offered to install the correct
Nvidia driver after I had done uninstalled the driver for troubleshooting.
Windows 8.1 does not replicate this behavior, not sure why; whether it's something I turned off once before

EDIT it seems I did forget about something. This situation existed because I had turned off "do you want Windows to
download driver software and realistic icons" in "Device Installation Settings" in the Control Panel.
