Good day! I originally had 4gb DDR3 ram on my laptop, which was working perfectly fine. My friend upgraded his computer, so he gave me his spare 4gb DDR3 of ram. I inserted it into my ram slot, did not adjust anything in the bios. Windows was showing only 4gbs but when I run CPU-Z it show me the total of 8gb of ram. My windows is not recognizing the 4gb ram. Please help...

Heres my screenshot:

install a different 4 gig RAM chip with the same speed as I noticed you have different RAM chips installed with different speeds which is almost bad and will downclock the fastest ram chip to a slower speed for stability
(a Kingston 4Gb RAM chip w/ PC3-10700 (667Mhz) on RAM slot 1 and a Hyundai Electronics 4Gb RAM chip w/ PC3-12800 (800Mhz) on RAM slot 2)

and you must be running a 64bit version of win8.1; use Speccy to determine if you are using a 64bit version of windows

If your CPU is 64-bit, you definitely should install x64 OS. Check the first tab on CPU-Z.
