hello, I'm trying to create a .reg file to keep my notepad++ file associations,
and I'm having problems with windows 8.1

this one:
https://textuploader.com/1awt2/raw
seems to work fine in windows 7 and (windows server 2008r2),
while this one:
https://textuploader.com/1aw6a/raw
seems to work in windows 8.1

which implementation is "better"?

can these two be merged?

I can't make the second work on windows 7 and vice versa,
the first on windows 8.1

you didn't understand, of course I'm running a portable version,
but I need a reg file to tell windows which files should open by default by npp

well, then you should use the Installer version...
and capture the registry before and after you create the file association's..

that's what I am doing but without the installer,
you can do the same by opening a file,
setting npp and then exporting the registry,
it's awkward that some files need the hash key,
which I don't know if will work on another pc
