network performance - LAN - std. browsing

    Hi

is it just me, or is the performance over LAN not really that good on W8?

sure.. copying and moving files is fine, but browsing images and folders etc. via network drives/folders is really not that good... W7 was much better..

What can be causing this? I assume that W8 has actually increased the network performance so what I am seeing seems strange..

    Any suggestions?

Maybe Windows 8 needs to rebuild its thumbnail cache for the network drives in question ?
